2009, plans and changes
Type: — posted at 7:13 pm on 2/2/2009Happy new year to all our students, clients and teachers. There are many exciting developments to announce for the coming year.
Since our move to Gloucestershire in the summer of 2008, many things have changed for Sitaram. There are many improvements in the booking service, and refinements in the training courses and manuals that have received excellent feedback. Our range of books and CDs, including the really useful new Teach Yourself Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth book/CD pack are continuing to sell well, and provide excellent reference for mothers and yoga teachers.
For 2009, Sitaram has also developed a new and more thoroughly integrated programme that brings more closely together our yoga and hypnosis for birth preparations to provide an even more effective preparation for expectant mothers and their partners. The closer integration is reflected in the forthcoming new structure to our website, which we hope you will find easy to explore. The new hypnosis for birth sessions (women and couples) are available weekdays and weekends at St Thomas’s and Kings College Hospitals, through the generous support of the midwifery services in those hospitals.
Participants on all the birth rehearsals now receive a full pack of Sitaram audio CDs for home practice, plus the option to book at a discount for hypnosis for birth preparation. Please investigate the new packages in the online booking service to see how you or your friends and family can gain better preparedness for birth and save money by booking these yoga and hypnosis for birth options together.
Throughout this year we continue to offer opportunities to attend free sessions of pregnancy, mother and baby and postnatal recovery yoga and family yoga as part of our training programmes. If you would like to attend please email Uma at yoga@sitaram.org and let her know the age of your child/or your due date so she can offer you a suitable date.
And we are delighted to offer again the chance to attend the fabulous SANTOSA yoga gathering. Bookings for this event open February 14, with early bird discounts available until April, and a new, simplified booking process to make life easier for you. This is the fourth year of the truly marvellous gathering, which grows in popularity each year, but since the gorgeous Healing Field meadow can’t get any bigger we limit participants to our yoga village of 250 people. Be sure to book your place in time to avoid disappointment!

Students who were attending classes in Montrell Road will be very warmly welcomed in the sessions at Brockwell Lido and St Thomas’s and Kings College Hospitals, and in September new sessions will open open up at the Lido, expanding the range of classes on offer in that fabulous location.
Our Birth Rehearsals will continue as before, with the Montrell road sessions being relocated to the Lido, and Nirlipta coming up from Stroud to run the sessions.
Our training work will also be continuing as before, with Uma commuting up to London on a monthly basis to run teacher training courses.
There will also be new Well-Woman yoga and weekly hynposis for birth sessions in Brockwell Lido and Kings College Hospital, so please check the schedule and sign up!
