Santosa Eco Yoga Camps

- two lovely gatherings this year… plus a little Irish sister camp

General information about the Camps

Please note first of all :  The camps are absoulutely and clearly alcohol and drug free. If you feel that you may want to use alcohol or drugs at all please do not book to come to these camps. Thank you.

Santosa (pronounced santosha) means contentment, or the happy acceptance of what is, as it is, in the moment. Santosa Yoga Camps began in 2006, with the aim to bring together yogis from all traditions, to share yoga practice in a clear pure space, with an open heart, in the beauty of nature. The camps are small (maximum 108 in the Cotswolds and 250 in Somerset) and very friendly, informal and fun.  Really fabulous yoga teachers and teacher trainers and therapists come from all over the country (and from India, and from other countries around the world) to teach for free because they love the heartwarming feel of these camps.

Inspiring, committed teachers share yoga in beauty.

There is respect for every form of yoga, and a huge variety of different forms on offer: from devotional bhakti chant and mantra in the dawn light, to Mysore style ashtanga vinyasa before breakfast, Menstrual Yoga and ayurveda for healing mid-morning, and chuckling Laughter Yoga and deep Yoga Nidra after lunch.  Eveings there are fires, singing, dance and meditations too. There are also loads of kids classes, baby and toddler yoga, family sessions, and healing therapies on offer.

Dawn to dusk yoga programme under canvas in domes, yurts, benders and other beautiful and original structures.

It is simple low impact eco-camping, in quiet healing fields or woodland.

All kids come free. We welcome teacher-training groups, families, groups of friends, visiting musicians and healers and therapists who share our vision of a harmonious, clear , sweet space for the experience of yoga, union.

Santosa Ireland: Mid summer Yoga Camp

June 24 -July 4 2011

We are really excited to let you know that yoga teacher Trea Heapes and her family, who loved their visit to the Cotswolds Santosa last year, are offering a sister Santosa Camp in Ireland at their newly opened Purecamping site.  It’s sure to be a treat – right on the water, in amongst native woodland, with oodles of gorgeous Irish yoga teachers.  We’ll be there!  Looking forward to it.

Santosa Summer Yoga Camp – August 20-28 2011

We are delighted to announce that the Santosa yoga gathering timetable is better than ever. We have over fifty confirmed yoga sessions, classes and workshops, plus three or four sessions of devotional sound daily – including kirtan, bhajan, mantra chanting and other voices from the heart for you to enjoy. There are also dance workshops and sessions, all offered by inspired and generous hearted yoga teachers from all over the country.

Moments from previous Santosa yoga camps

At least one afternoon each camp there is a Yoga Bazaar, to trade, swap and sell books, clothes, musical instruments, and crafts.

At the end of the camps, we celebrate with song, dance and ceremony.

Early morning showers and satsang. At the Somerset camp, there is a fine view of Glastonbury Tor, including an excellent perspective from the showers.

Satyananda yoga class in the large dome. Teachers offer the best from all traditions, sharing their knowledge freely.
