Really Special Events
Over the years we have been extremely fortunate to encounter many excellent and inspiring yoga teachers from all over the world, and from across many different yoga lineages. Now that here in Stroud we are lucky enough to have our own small yoga studio, we are delighted to be able to invite visiting yoga teachers to stay with us, and offer yoga programmes.
Whilst we have focused much of our interest into the field of applied yoga therapy for women’s health (see our Women’s Events listing for more details on this topic), we keep an open mind and open heart to every aspect of yoga practice, and continue to learn from many remarkable teachers around the world.
This Summer, we are delighted to offer you a regular monthly programme of Kirtan with Bharati and Dinesh, and three remarkable sessions from Lucy Crisfield and Alexander Honeyman who are both visiting Stroud to share their passion for the soul connection through sound:
If you would like to attend these events please mail yoga@sitaram.org to reserve your place. You are welcome to arrive on the evening of the even.t but it is helpful to have some idea of numbers beforehand. Donations from £5 – 10.

Previous delights we have offered:
In 2009 we were honoured to host Mukunda Stiles and Chinnamasta, as they gave an evening and day programme in yoga and tantra and yoga therapy.
In 2010, we two esteemed and internationally celebrated yoga teachers came to Stroud: Senior Iyengar teacher, Glenn Ceresoli from Australia, and Swami Muktidharmananda, Satyananda yoga acharya from New Zealand.
Highlights from the 2010 programme included:
Yoga Psychology and Yoga Nidra with Swami Muktidharma
Tuesday 15th June 2010
Diving deeper into the healing potential of yoga nidra, and understanding the nature of the mind with yoga psychology
Swami Muktidharama is a senior Satayananda Yoga Acharya (lineage holder), originally from Columbia, who runs his own ashram in New Zealand. He is perhaps the most heart-warming and authentic transmitter of the deep wisdom of this lineage of yoga that I have ever had the honour to meet.
He lived and worked with the late Paramahamsa Satyananda in Rikhia for 16 years, and brings great clarity and depth to the teachings of Satyananda yoga, from a perspective of lived experience. His full biography is here at his own Anahata ashram site, and his full 2010 world tour dates are here.
